NHNZ WORLDWIDE is an Emmy award-winning documentary production company with 30-plus years’ experience in the international television market. From 111 episodes of human triumph in I SURVIVED for A&E to the cinematic wonder of MYSTERIOUS PLANET for the launch of Discovery+, NHNZ Worldwide has proven itself across multiple unscripted and documentary genres.

 

Last year, a majority shareholding in the company was acquired by Dame Julie Christie DNZM,  a multi-award-winning creator and producer of unscripted formats in 30 world markets.  Co-owner Blue Ant Media remains a key partner in the business.

 

Today NHNZ Worldwide is focused on forward-thinking and innovative programs for the global market.  From our origins as a  world-leading blue-chip natural history content producer, the company has grown to embrace multiple non-fiction genres, and produce blockbusters for top franchises such as SharkFest, Shark Week and Megastructures.  The third season of the visually-stunning Our Big Blue Backyard is currently in production along with a ground-breaking climate change series, more amazing shark-focused content and our first children’s animation series, Panda & Kiwi. 

 

NHNZ Worldwide began in Dunedin, New Zealand, but has built a strong team of global production partners, a development team in the USA, and new opportunities in Asia.  Recently, we have been involved in projects for Discovery, TLC, HGTV, PBS, Curiosity Stream, NatGeoWild, Arté and National Geographic.
