Synopsis:
There are only 83 Kakapo left in New Zealand. But the giant flightless parrot's most successful breeding season for 16 years was a rollercoaster ride of hope for those trying to save it from extinction. By season's end, numbers increased for the first time in 100 years and for the first time female kakapo and chicks are shown inside their nests.
