NHNZ was named the winner of the Westpac Otago Chamber of Commerce Supreme Business Excellence Award at a function held in the Dunedin Town Hall last Friday night.
NHNZ was also awarded the Manufacturing and Primary award and the company’s gaming division Runaway won the Design award.
Otago Chamber of Commerce president Ali Copeman said:
"This just proves an existing business can change, adapt and create something new. NHNZ has been flexible enough to understand the nature of a changing media landscape and respond by making its own changes."
NHNZ Managing Director says that the award recognises NHNZ success in growing from a small local unit into an internationally recognised production company:
“We have put in a big effort to grow our business through increasingly diverse areas including kids programming, archive shows, factual content, moving images library, gaming, and our big commitment to exporting, and in particular the US and China markets.
“I was happy to accept the award on Friday night on behalf of all of us, but the credit really goes to our people who work tirelessly to achieve excellence every day. We’ve got some great opportunities to continue to build NHNZ on the horizon and I’m excited about what lies ahead.”
