NHNZ brings the vintage clothing luminary Doris Raymond back to Smithsonian Channel with the new season of L.A. Frock Stars premiering March 19 at 9 pm EST/PST.
The second season of the critically acclaimed series sees the original half-hour format extended to one-hour episodes.
“This season offers even more glitz and glamour,” says NHNZ Executive Producer Judith Curran, “L.A. Frock Stars combines reality television entertainment with fashion and design history, as well as rare insights into the provenance of vintage fashion. This season really ups the ante, peering through the kaleidoscope of Raymond’s exciting fashion world and sharing the adrenaline rush of the vintage fashion world.”
L.A. Frock Stars follows Doris and her team of vintage virtuosos at her West Hollywood vintage clothing store The Way We Wore®. From private estate sales, high-end auctions and off-the-grid stores, Doris and her team discover and uncover fashion treasures from the 1900s to the 1980s, and in turn supply wardrobe to some of the world’s most influential stylists, costume designers and celebrities.
The new season will see some of Doris’ most notable clientele stop by the store, including burlesque artist Dita von Teese, designer Jeremy Scott, top Hollywood stylist Jen Rade, and Academy® Award-winning costume designer Mark Bridges.
Sky Vision, the international distribution arm of Sky, will handle worldwide sales for the series, which will be appearing at MIPTV. Alex Fraser, Head of Acquisitions, Scripted and Entertainment at Sky Vision, comments: “This series is an addictive blend of Hollywood glamour and memorable characters which combine to make an entertaining and informative reality-based series with global appeal.”
