Brad Phipps worked for Sky TV in Auckland as a production coordinator and later an editor as well as the odd stint in TAB Trackside as a camera operator/director before joining NHNZ in 2005. He was an edit assist before joining the IT department in 2008. Brad takes care of servicing the edit suites and assisting post production in technical areas. A fan of the television series The IT Crowd, he will often remind staff "try turning it off and on again" whenever a computer problem is encountered.
Brad has been playing around with computers since he was 10 years old and studied Information Technology at the Polytech. Before joining NHNZ in 2009 he worked for Otago Computer Supplies for 10 years, honing his IT skills on the job. Learning about and experimenting with new technology, the interconnection between everything, and customising systems to suit the purpose is what keeps him interested. At NHNZ Brad is responsible for looking after our networks, servers and phone systems.
For seven years before joining NHNZ in 2009 Richard worked in the copier industry servicing and installing copiers, printers and software solutions. He started a four-year apprenticeship in electronics servicing in 1989 and then spent another ten years in domestic electronics repairing anything from televisions, audio and video equipment to cameras, before moving to printers and copiers. At NHNZ Richard is responsible for servicing production field equipment and the post-production suites.
